The APC Sound Group, a political support organization under the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has endorsed prominent businessman and philanthropist Abdulkarim Abdulsalam Zaura, popularly known as A.A. Zaura, to contest the Kano State Governorship election in 2027.
The group made the announcement on Saturday in Kano during a press conference addressed by its chairman, Hon. Musa Sani BB, who described Zaura as “a man of the people whose generosity and commitment to social development transcend political interests.”
Hon. Musa explained that the endorsement followed a careful assessment of Zaura’s consistent humanitarian activities across Kano State. He said Zaura’s philanthropy is driven by compassion and sincerity, not political ambition, as most of his projects are personally funded from his business resources.
“Our call is not about politics; it is about leadership, compassion, and integrity,” he said. “Zaura has been supporting traders, youths, and widows across the state with his own money. He is a true son of Kano who places humanity above politics.”
He added that Zaura possesses the maturity, humility, and tolerance needed to unite the people of Kano, describing him as a “bridge-builder and a man without enemies.”
“We have seen how divisive politics has slowed our progress in the past. What Kano needs now is someone who can bring everyone together. Zaura is that man
peaceful, humble, and accommodating,” Musa said.
The group also commended Zaura for his contributions to the fight against drug abuse among youths, noting that his support for anti-drug campaigns has helped reduce phone snatching and street crimes in several parts of Kano metropolis.
“He is not only empowering the youth but also saving their future. The programmes he supports have helped many young people quit drug abuse and find meaningful livelihoods,” he added.
Hon. Musa appealed to APC leaders, stakeholders, and the people of Kano State to support Zaura if he decides to contest the 2027 governorship election, saying his leadership would bring progress and stability to the state.
“Our appeal is sincere. We believe Zaura’s leadership will usher in a new dawn of peace, progress, and prosperity for Kano State,” he stated.
The endorsement by the APC Sound Group adds to the growing calls for A.A. Zaura to seek the governorship seat, following his years of philanthropic service and contributions to youth empowerment across Kano and beyond.
