In a fresh demonstration of compassion and community service, Dr. Usaini Akilu Jarma (FCAI) has reaffirmed his commitment to sustaining his Free Eye Care Initiative, which provides free eye treatment to residents of Dala Local Government Area and other communities across Kano State.
Speaking ahead of the fourth phase of the outreach, Dr. Jarma said the programme reflects his long-standing vision to make quality eye care accessible to the less privileged and to reduce cases of avoidable blindness in local communities.
“We will continue to support the people of Dala Local Government and all our other local government areas by providing free eye treatment in the fourth phase of the programme,” Dr. Jarma.
He emphasized that good health remains one of the most urgent social needs and urged well-meaning individuals to invest in humanitarian projects that directly uplift the poor.
Since its inception, the Free Eye Care Initiative has recorded significant success. Across the first three phases, hundreds of beneficiaries — men, women, and children — have received free consultations, eyeglasses, medications, and surgeries. Many of them have regained their sight and improved their quality of life, thanks to the project’s reach and effectiveness.
Community leaders have lauded Dr. Jarma’s efforts, describing him as a visionary philanthropist whose generosity cuts across social and political lines. They say his work reflects true leadership — one defined not by position, but by positive impact.
Preparations are now underway for the fourth phase of the exercise, expected to reach even more beneficiaries within Dala and neighboring local governments.
Dr. Jarma reiterated that the programme is not merely a charitable gesture but a mission rooted in restoring hope and dignity to those in need.
“When people regain their sight, they regain their confidence and their ability to contribute meaningfully to society,” he noted.
With his unwavering commitment to public health and community service, Dr. Usaini Akilu Jarma continues to set an example of leadership driven by empathy, vision, and genuine concern for humanity. His Free Eye Care Initiative remains a beacon of hope — restoring sight, rebuilding lives, and reaffirming faith in the power of service.
