Kano State Hospitals Hospital Management Board KSHMB has reiterated its support for the Code Connected Organization to transfer patients from PHC to Secondary hospitals.
The Director of the Board, Dr. Aisha Bello Danbatta, disclosed this during a advocacy visit to the Board.
She said the Board would continue to work with the Development association to achieve the Kano State Government’s goal of improving primary health care.
Key issues related to the KACHIMA and KSCHMA health schemes, which combine government and registered contributions to improve access to health, were also discussed.
Beneficiaries contribute a small amount, while government subsidies cover most of the cost of services, with a small co-payment of about 1 percent mostly for medicines, while most services are subsidized or provided free of charge upon registration.
In their separate speeches, Mrs. Ogbonna Amarachi and Mohammed Gimba from the Code Connected Organization elaborated on the issues related to health financing, service delivery and accountability mechanisms.
The Code Connected Organization also paid another similar visit to the Kano State Ministry of Health where Mohammed Gimba led the delegation, who presented the organization vision.
Mrs. Ogbanna Amarachi further explained the initiative and stated that the discussion focused on the implementation of the BHCPF, accountability and collaboration.
