ADC Kaduna Resolves Leadership Crisis, Reunites Party Structure
The Kaduna State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has resolved its prolonged leadership crisis following a successful reconciliation between two warring factions within the party.
The dispute, which involved the faction led by Hon. Ahmed Tijjani Mustapha and that of Elder Patrick D. Ambut, had earlier escalated into litigation before a competent court. However, both parties have now agreed to settle their differences amicably in the overall interest of the party.
In a press statement issued on April 15, 2026, by the State Publicity Secretary, Engr. Idris Musa, the party announced that the factions had agreed to withdraw the pending court case and unite as one indivisible political family.
As part of the terms of settlement, the parties resolved to maintain the status quo ante, allowing all members to return to their respective positions within the party structure.
According to him the agreement also confirmed the reinstatement of Elder Patrick D. Ambut as the substantive State Chairman of the African Democratic Congress in Kaduna.
Additionally, the party disclosed that meetings of the State Executive Committee (SEC) and the State Working Committee (SWC) would be convened immediately to formally brief members on the development.
The statement further noted that both factions had agreed to constitute congress committees at the polling unit, ward, and local government levels to oversee forthcoming party congresses.
It was also revealed that the terms of settlement have been entered as a Consent Judgment in the pending suit, thereby giving legal backing to the agreement.
The reinstated State Chairman, Elder Patrick D. Ambut, is expected to address party members and the general public in a scheduled press conference to provide further clarification on the reconciliation process.
