- Ramadan Relief: 1,500 Kano Residents to Benefit as PEM Distributes 50kg Rice
As Ramadan unfolds amid rising food costs, the Public Enlightenment Movement (PEM), led by Nuhu Abdullahi, is set to distribute 50kg bags of rice to more than 1,500 beneficiaries across Kano State.
In addition to the broader community outreach, no fewer than 30 journalists will also benefit from the initiative. More than 60 bags of 50kg rice have been earmarked specifically for the journalists alone — a scale-up from a previous intervention where 43 bags were distributed to media practitioners who have consistently covered the movement’s activities.
The larger distribution to over 1,500 residents is aimed at cushioning vulnerable households and easing food expenses during the fasting period, especially at a time when many families are grappling with high living costs.
