It comprise representatives from Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN ) Kano State chapter, State Sports commission , Kano State Football Association, Kano Pillars Football Club and Barau FC Football Club members.
The gathering was convened on Thursday 21st August, 2025 to discuss critical issues affecting the development of sports particularly soccer in the state aimed at creating a harmonious and mutual co-existence and developmental partnership between Kano Pillars and Barau Football Teams,
the two sides that will represent Kano State in the upcoming Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL) 2025/2026 season.
KEY RESOLUTIONS
1. *Fanbase and Awareness*: The sitting, urged both Pillars and Barau FC Supporters Club , to preach the gospel of mutual understanding and respect with a view to ensuring the ends justify the means being the hub of Football across Northern part of the country,
2. *Development*:
The communique called on all Stakeholders to collaborate with one another so as to promote football inclusiveness
and development of communities in line with FIFA /CAF /NFF /FA rules and regulations with a view to avoiding any set back for the clubs that will fly the flag of the state in NPFL. and the entire Football family.
3. *Funding and Sponsorship*:
The resolution emphasized the need for increased funding and sponsorship to support Football development in the state and beyond
4. Part of the Communique moreover called for synergy between the sides in order to showcase the state above it peers aimed at drawing the attention of more sponsors and donors particularly corporate organizations, and public spirited individuals to contribute, to the extent that will possibly help in building a 100,000 seater capacity modern Stadium in the state , sooner than later
5. *Collaboration*:
It hailed how Management of the clubs and fans leadership Kano Pillars Football Team Chairman Alhaji reaffirmed their commitment to uphold the principles of fairness and more importantly the campaign against drugs addiction by solemnly pledging to work together to promote cleanliness in that respect aimed at proving cynics wrong as the premier league will kick off
6 *Call for Action*: It likewise recognized the laying out plans, actions , strategy and agenda for the two premiership sides during 2025/26 season
7 . The resolution furthermore advised the teams to work collectively aimed at ensuring healthy and wholesome rivalry
8 *Pledge*
Part of the communique also lauded stakeholders for vowing to reconvene on another time or date to be announced in due course to review progress attained on the implementation of the template and addressing emerging issues, pertaining to the subject matter
9. The gathering unanimously expressed heartfelt gratitude to the SWAN Kano State chapter for facilitating the event and to all participants for their active engagement and contributions.
