Barau Football Club technical adviser, Isah Ladan Bosso, has expressed satisfaction with the performance of his players despite their opening Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) match ending in a stalemate against Enyimba.
The opening NPFL fixture between the two clubs was held on Sunday at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kofar Mata, and ended goalless as Barau FC pressed in search of goals.
Speaking in a post-match interview, Bosso said: “The result was not what we expected, but we thank God for the goalless draw. We deserved to win this match because our players gave their best.
“But that’s football—if Enyimba can come to Kano and pick up points, then we also have the chance to go anywhere and get points.”Bosso added.
The experienced coach also commended the massive support from Kano fans, saying: “Today is a historic day as the people of Kano and Barau FC came together to support us. I really appreciate it.”
When asked about the next match against Bayelsa United, Bosso said “Bayelsa United is my former team. I know them well, and they also know me. Going to Yenagoa is not new to me, and I hope we return to Kano with points from Bayelsa.”
The Maliya Boys will now shift their focus to NPFL Matchday Two against Bayelsa United on Sunday, August 31, at the Samson Siasia Sports Stadium.
Barau FC will be eager to bounce back and secure points after the goalless draw at the Sani Abacha Stadium, as the league continues to grow more competitive.
