His Royal Highness, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, CFR (born 21 August 1961), remains the 15th Fulani Emir of Kano, pending the final determination of matters before the courts.
In keeping with respect for the rule of law and the sanctity of traditional institutions, there is no justification to preempt judicial authority.
Across communities and Generations , he continues to be recognised as a symbol of stability, faith, and legitimate traditional leadership.
He is the second son of the late Alhaji Ado Bayero, the 13th Emir of Kano, whose reign stands as the longest and among the most revered in the history of the Kano Emirate.
A Fulani Emir by Heritage and Class
His Royal Highness stands as a Fulani Emir by heritage and class, deeply rooted in the historic Fulani emirate tradition that shaped Kano and Ilorin in Kwara State—two of the most prominent centres of Fulani Islamic Governance in Nigeria.
By lineage, training, and worldview, he inherits the enduring legacy of Fulani emirship, built on Islam, justice, scholarship, and service to humanity.
In this noble tradition, wherever he goes, he is received and honoured as “Ran Sarki Ya Dade”—a title that reflects respect, continuity, and the timeless dignity of the throne.
Early Life and Islamic Foundation
Born in Kano into the respected Fulani Sullubawa clan, Emir Aminu Ado Bayero was raised in an atmosphere of Islamic discipline, humility, and service.
He received extensive Islamic education at home, studying the Glorious Qur’an, Hadith, and Fiqh, which laid the spiritual and moral foundation for his leadership.
He attended Kofar Kudu Primary School and Government College, Birnin Kudu, before earning a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication from Bayero University, Kano.
He later advanced his professional skills by qualifying as a pilot at the Flying College in Oakland, California, USA.
Professional Life and Service to the Nation
He completed his NYSC at the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Makurdi, contributing to national communication and public enlightenment.
His professional career also extended into aviation, where he worked with the defunct Kabo Air as a flight engineer and public relations officer, combining technical expertise with public service.

On 9 March 2020, he ascended the throne as the 15th Fulani Emir of Kano, embodying continuity of faith, culture, and traditional authority. Since then, he has been widely acknowledged for his tireless efforts in strengthening Islam, promoting peaceful coexistence, and uniting people across ethnic, political, and social lines.
Even amid legal developments surrounding the emirate, His Royal Highness has consistently chosen calm, restraint, and respect for the judiciary, placing peace above provocation and unity above division.
Faith, Honour, and National Service
Beyond the palace, Emir Aminu Ado Bayero has served Nigeria as Chancellor of the University of Calabar and has been honoured with the national title Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (CFR).
His leadership style is defined by humility, patience, Islamic ethics, and inclusive dialogue.
